Position Summary: 

The Human Resources Specialist plays an important role in supporting employees and leaders with day-to-day HR questions, processes, and workplace needs. This position supports our Cretex Medical Component and Device Technologies (CDT) group at our Brooklyn Park facility. This is a hands-on, in-person HR role where building relationships and being accessible to employees and leaders is essential. The primary focus will be administering leave of absence and workers’ compensation processes, supporting new hire orientation facilitation, and providing HR guidance and support to employees and leaders on day-to-day questions. Responsibilities

  • Lead the administration of leave of absence and workers’ compensation processes for facility employees, including:
    • Supporting employees with leave claims and monitoring claim status
    • Partnering with the leave administrator to resolve claim-related questions
    • Ensuring time records are accurate in the timekeeping system and benefit payments are processed timely
  • Provide back-up support for new hire orientation facilitation
  • Provide day-to-day coaching to employees and leaders on policy interpretation and application, employee relations matters, and escalation of complex issues
  • Facilitate new hire check-ins and ongoing employee touchpoints to support a positive employee experience
  • Support site off-boarding activities
  • Participate in weekly and monthly reporting activities
  • Ensure employee paperwork related to assigned processes is accurate and employee files are maintained
  • Support workplace committees, including wellness and people and culture initiatives
  • Partner with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
  • Support the unemployment process as needed, including responding to claims and attending appeals hearings when requested
  • Actively promote cultural change, continuous improvement, and new ways of working within HR to deliver a high-quality, professional, consistent, and cohesive HR service. This includes collaborating effectively, communicating proactively, understanding employee needs, gathering feedback, and identifying opportunities to enhance service delivery and the employee experience.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and lead more complex HR process enhancements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a related field or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of related experience in Human Resources
  • Demonstatated skills to work in a fast paced envirorment where attention to detial is critical 
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills, analytical and system thinking ability; demonstrated through previous experience
  • Strong initiative and results orientation
  • Ability to convey information effectively and professionally to others, be an active listener, and develop healthy working relationships with others
  • Ability to consistently achieve business results
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to follow through on commitments
  • Demonstrated Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint,) proficiency
  • Good judgement, decision making skills and ability to keep information confidential

Pay Range

USD $56,400.00 - USD $84,600.00 /Yr.

Pay Range Details

This pay range reflects the base hourly rate or annual salary for positions within this job grade, based on our market-based pay structures. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as skills, relevant experience, education, internal equity, business needs, and local market conditions. While the full hiring range is shared for transparency, offers are rarely made at the minimum or maximum of the range.
